LAST CLASS OF THE SEMESTER

Assalamualikum w.b.t.

As the title above, today was the last class for the Creative and Critical Thinking for this semester. During the class today, the last two groups were doing the groups activity. The first group activity was conducted by Umai's group. The game we were playing was The Air Chair. The game requires us to produce a chair out of 20 pieces of balloons. But, for this game, we were divided by Umai's group into 5 big groups and a leader is selected by them. As for my group, the members are Lena, Am, Mimi Nadiah, Dharsh, Adillah Aris, Cuna,  Afdhilla, Nurin, and me. The leader for my team is Adillah Aris. The leader's role is to conduct us in building the air chair by giving instructions since we were not allowed to speak and she also needs to present about our chair in the class. Our chair's name is OgaChair since it is inspired by the ogawa chair. All of the chairs built were tested by Am as he sat on the chair to see whether the chair is stable, tough/resistant, and creative enough. The game had taught us to work with different people that are different from our usual framework to make us to know more how to work with other people that we used to work with. Furthermore, teamwork is the most important thing for us in order to be able to produce the chair within the time given.

The last group activity was conducted by my group. We were doing the Life Hacks Challenge. Well, we decided to do this life hacks related activity because not so many people know about the life hacks. Basically, life hacks are the ideas for using the things from our surrounding in order to make our works/activities easier. For an example, the idea of using paperclips as the the bookmark, using aloevera as moisturizer and much more. For the life hacks challenge, we had made a short life hacks video by using the the software named Filmora.

After we watched the video, then we proceed with the life hacks challenge. The challenge is all about creating a new life hacks that is different from the one that we had shown in the video by using the recycled items that we had collected. Every groups managed to come up with a very creative yet practical life hacks. For the challenge, we had decided to give some roles to every persons in the group which are; a classroom teacher that needs to present their product later, a class representative that will choose the recycled items for the group and the rest are the students that will make the product. The purpose we did like that because we wanted to give chances to the person who rarely talks in front of the class to present about their group's life hack product. Furthermore, the life hacks challenge can boost their creativity in using items from the surrounding to produce something that will ease our daily activities. Here are some photos from the activity;

INDIVIDUAL CREATIVE TECHNIQUES

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.

For today's class, we learnt about the individual creative techniques. Why we learnt this topic? It is because every person in this world is creative in their own way in which every person has different techniques in creativity. 

The most important reason that keep making people think that they are not creative are mostly came from the mental block. Like mentioned in the picture above, the mental blocks that keep making people think that they are not as creative as other people is. They think that the superior idea mostly comes from somebody that is good or best like the politician, famous person, public figures and others. They assume that the idea from 'nobody' like the netizens is bad and awful that it could not be used at all. 

So, in order to get rid of the mental blocks, we need to at least know the role of creativity as such everybody is creative and owns creative ability but it needs to be stimulated. 

Brief explanation on role of creativity according to Roger (1986).

There are many techniques for creativity but we only learnt a few of it which are; list of attributes, expired date, and the Sun. In the list of attributes technique, we need to list out the physical (eg; color, speed), social (eg; responsibility, leadership), psychological (eg; motivation, perception), and cost for the idea that we are going to make. Next, the expired date. The expired date is used as a time frame because as the main concern in a critical situation, the time frame will forces our mind to think and finding the solution needed for the problem at our hand. Lastly, the Sun. The Sun technique is used for us to improvise the quality of our product mostly for our marketing. This technique is used a lot buy many companies in selling their products to the public as the Sun is symbol of power.

As for today's group activity, it was conducted by Azian's group and Kevin's group. Azian's group activity is about creativity. We were given two pieces of A4 size old newspaper and told to make a big circle out of it but we were not allowed to use any scissors at that time. All of the groups managed to generate the huge circle out of the papers given to us.

The last activity was conducted by Kevin's group. For this activity, we were playing Photo Hunts. We need to go all around our faculty building to find and capture the right photo like shown to us in order for us to win the race. It does really made us sweat a lot by walking all over the building finding the right photo. This game made us know about our faculty from inside and out since we need to explore around and within the building for searching for the right photo. Here are some of the photos from the race;
